Glover Teixeira picked up his biggest win in MMA at UFC on Fox 6 when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Teixeira showed he was the superior fight in the standing position and on the ground, and also in terms of cardio. The question now remains who will the UFC put up against the Brazilian light-heavyweight next? A good fight for Teixeira would be Phil Davis, who needs an opponent for his next bout. Davis was supposed to take on Forrest Griffin in December, but a severe injury forced Griffin out of that bout. Davis would be a great test for Teixeira's wrestling skills, particular his takedown defense. Rampage did try a couple shots on Teixeira but they were weak and coming from a state of fatigue. Davis' wrestling will be much more sharp and is an integral part of his overall MMA game. In the standing position, Teixeira will have a clear advantage. It'd be a good fight that makes sense for both fighters.
The other option is for Teixeira to take on his fellow UFC on Fox 6 colleague Ryan Bader, who defeated Vladdy Matyushenko in impressive fashion with a swift guillotine choke. Bader, just like Davis, has a tremendous wrestling skills, and his striking is coming a lot way. It showed against Matyushenko, who Bader tagged with a left, before moving in for the choke. Teixeira will once again have an edge on the feet, so it'd be a fight that Bader would need to take to the floor.
So with Rashad, Jones, Machida, Hendo, Gustafsson, and Mousasi tied up with opponents, Phil Davis and Ryan Bader will be the two best options for Texeira to fight next.
