At yesterday's (Jan. 25, 2013) UFC on FOX 6 weigh-ins, Quinton Jackson, one of the most vocal fighters in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), had a few words for his upcoming opponent, Glover Teixeira, as the two stood toe-to-toe moments after successfully making weight.
Now, thanks to UFC President Dana White's handy camera man, who was on hand filming his ever-popular video blogs -- which you can see here and here -- we can eavesdrop and listen to what Jackson had to say to hard-hitting Teixeira:
"I'm in the best shape of my life, I've trained hard as (expletive) for you, I don't like it when people say there gonna knock me out like your boy Chuck did, you're going down homie, you don't know what you asked for. You don't know what you asked for."
Chuck, is of course none other than former 205-pound kingpin Chuck Liddell, whom Jackson knocked out to capture the title back at UFC 71 in May of 2007. That was the second time "Rampage" had topped "The Iceman."
The two initially met at Pride "Final Conflict 2003" four years earlier in Tokyo, Japan where Jackson defeated Liddell in the second round after Chuck's corner threw in the towel having decided he had endured enough punishment at the hands of Jackson.
The loss for Chuck was his last before going on one of the most impressive runs at light heavyweight; taking the title from Randy Couture in 2005 and defending it four consecutive times before running into...you guessed it, Jackson.
The twist in the story is that Teixeira, which will likely be Jackson final opponent inside the Octagon, is "The Iceman's" protege. The two have been training together since Liddell's first fight against Tito Ortiz in 2004.
Can Teixeira exact some revenge for his mentor and send "Rampage" packing into the sunset on a low note?
Find out tonight (Jan. 26, 2013) as the two hard-hitting fighters co-main event UFC on FOX 6 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
