What's a day in the life of top UFC Heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem like? Find out in this latest entry into his "Reem" video documentary series.
He's back!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem is gearing up for his UFC 156 fight against Antonio Silva, which goes down on Feb. 2, 2013 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a camera crew in tow to help him film season three of "The Reem."
"Demolition Man" recently had his license to fight rubber-stamped by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) after testing positive for elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone levels early last year. The hulking Dutchman has not competed since his technical knockout win over Brock Lesnar in his ZUFFA debut back at UFC 141.
In the meantime, Overeem has been training at the "Blackzilians" camp in South Florida for his eventual return, opening himself up to random drug testing to ensure he is no longer sucking down the sauce.
Episode one of "The Reem's" third season focuses on his arm-wrestling competition against Bob Sapp in Japan (see it here), as well as his reconciliation with the NSAC. And, of course, his training and preparations for his upcoming "Bigfoot" fight.
