Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently broadcast its "Road to the Octagon" special for its UFC on FOX 6: "Johnson vs. Dodson" event, which goes down at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, this Saturday night (Jan. 26, 2013) at 8 p.m. ET.

UFC on FOX 6 is headlined by a flyweight championship bout between reigning titleholder Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Dodson. Along with the 125-pound headliner, Quinton Jackson meets Glover Teixeira in a light heavyweight contest while Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone are set to clash in a lightweight grudge match.

Johnson (16-2) became the first flyweight champion in UFC with a unanimous decision victory over Joseph Benavidez at UFC 152 this past September. ‘Mighty Mouse' is 2-0-1 since dropping to the flyweight division and is 6-2-1 overall under the ZUFFA banner (UFC and WEC). The 26-year-old has fought to a decision in six consecutive bouts.

Dodson (14-5) established himself as the first-ever No. 1 contender at 125 pounds with a second-round technical knockout of Jussier da Silva last October at UFC on FX 5. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 14 winner is the eighth winner of the reality show to earn a UFC title shot, and accomplished the feat with the fewest UFC fights.

Jackson (32-10) has one fight left on his contract and plans to leave the organization after his next fight (see why here). He would undoubtedly like to go out with a bang and a match up against Teixeira has fireworks written all over it. The Tennessee native is in the midst of a well-documented clash with UFC management and has been eager to get his final fight out of the way so he can move on from the UFC.

Jackson is coming off losing back-to-back bouts at the hands of Jon Jones and Ryan Bader and has dropped three of his last five fights.

Teixeira (19-2) has only fought in the UFC twice but has already proven to be one of the most dangerous fighters in the world at 205 pounds. Teixeira's win over Fabio Maldonado at UFC 153 marked the Brazilian's 17th consecutive victory over the past six years, 16 of which have come by (T)KO or submission. The 32-year-old will be in for the toughest test of his career, as he has never fought an opponent with the credentials of "Rampage."

Pettis (15-2) is one of the most exciting lightweights on the UFC roster and returns from an 11-month layoff that included elbow surgery at UFC on FOX 6. "Showtime" last competed at UFC 144 in February 2012 where he nearly decapitated Joe Lauzon with a highlight reel head kick knockout. Pettis has won six of his last seven fights and will look to keep his momentum going with another memorable victory.

Cerrone (19-4) had a perfect 2012 campaign, going 2-0 with victories over Jeremy Stephens and Melvin Guillard. "Cowboy" has put together a solid resume in his nearly two-year stint with the organization, getting his hand raised in six of seven bouts, with the lone defeat coming to former lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz.
