UFC on FX 7: "Belfort vs. Bisping" from the Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is officially in the books after another entertaining night (Jan. 19, 2013) of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mixed martial arts (MMA) action.
The main event of the evening, Vitor Belfort vs. Michael Bisping, featured a "Phenom"enal second round finish of "The Count," which was set up by a head kick and then closed quickly thereafter thanks to a furious barrage of Brazilian bombs (watch video highlights here). It's a setback that once again cost Bisping No. 1 contender status and simultaneously catapulted Belfort right back into the 185-pound mix.
In the co-featured fight of the night, which ended up winning "Fight of the Night" honors, C.B. Dollaway and Daniel Sarafian got after if for three full rounds, battling back-and-forth en route to an exciting split decision finish that ultimately went in favor of "The Doberman."
The two stars of the show -- Belfort and Dollaway -- were in attendance at the UFC on FX 7 post-fight press conference to dish the dirt on the event immediately afterward. Belfort continued to talk about "that clown," Chael Sonnen, while Dollaway talked about his come-from-behind victory.
UFC President Dana White -- who almost always emcees the post-fight event wrap up shows -- was not in attendance because of his recent ear surgery (see what it looks like here). Marshall Zelaznik, UFC Managing Director for International Development, therefore, took his place on the dais.
We'll be sure to provide the full UFC on FX 7 press conference video replay as soon as one is made available.
