Veteran mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Mike Guymon was on the wrong end of a crushing knockout blow from Savant Young at Bellator 85 on Jan. 17, 2013. The knockout caused more than just a blow to Guymon's moral; it also caused four facial fractures and a fractured jaw.
Last night (Jan. 17, 2013) at Bellator 85 in Irvine, Calif., veteran lightweight Mike Guymon was on the receiving end of the most devastating knockouts to ever take place inside the Bellator cage.
Savant Young knocked "The Joker" out cold at the 48-second mark of the second round in their 155-pound contest, which took on the preliminary portion of the fight card.
Unfortunately for Guymon, the finish did more than just rattle his brain; it caused several fractures to his head - four in the face and one in the jaw to be specific.
Guymon posted on his official Facebook page shortly after the event and explained the extend of his injuries.

Guymon (14-6-1) controlled the first round of action against Young, only to make a mistake in the second round that left him open to Young's counterstriking attack, resulting in the first knockout loss of his 21-fight career.
The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) announced Friday to MMA Junkie that Guymon has been issued a 180 no contact suspension for a possible left check fracture. Guymon was also suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for KO loss
The 38-year-old has compete in organizations such as the UFC, IFL and Bellator; however, with three losses in his past five fights topped off by the plethora or injuries suffered at the hands of Young, Guymon's future in mixed martial arts (MMA) remains a question mark.
Guymon posted a follow up message on his Facebook page stating he will undergo surgery on his face tomorrow (Jan. 19, 2013).
