UFC Quick Quote: Jon Jones 'wishes' Daniel Cormier would stop talking and start doing

Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE

It's time to walk the walk after talking the talk for Daniel Cormier. UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who was one of the targets of "DC's" post-fight call outs at Strikeforce: "Marquardt vs Saffiedine" last weekend (Jan 12, 2013), says he wants Cormier to quit talking about a drop to the 205-pound division and be like Nike and "Just do it."

"I think the guy is a tremendous athlete and I wish he would just do it and just stop talking about it. I am open to fighting the best guys in the world. That's why I'm here."

Don't talk about it, be about it. That's Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones' message on "UFC Tonight" to Daniel Cormier, who has been adamant about getting his chance to compete against "Bones" should he eventually make the drop down to the 205-pound weight class. In fact, the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner and newest addition to the UFC's 265-pound division took the opportunity to call out Jones after stomping out Dion Staring last weekend (Jan. 12, 2013) at the promotion's farewell event. Cormier declared he will "kick his ass," should Jon defend his title successfully against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 on April 27, 2013 in New Jersey. But first, the former Olympian has to take care of some business at heavyweight in the form of Frank Mir, who he also called out in Oklahoma, at UFC on FOX 7 on April 20, 2013 in San Jose, California before he can worry about "Bones." UFC President Dana White hinted at Cormier possibly getting a title shot against Jones should he make the drop in weight. It's time to stop talking and start doing, "DC."
