Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) kept the good news rolling today (Jan. 15, 2013), announcing (via Twitter.com) another fine mixed martial arts (MMA) bout for its upcoming UFC on FOX 7 fight card, which will take place from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California:
Hardy has recently steered himself out a flat spin, reeling off back-to-back victories over Duane Ludwig and Amir Sadollah after previously dropping four straight fights. The former number one 170-pound contender was on the verge of getting a pink slip; however, he was afforded additional opportunities inside the Octagon because of his personality, talent and typically fan-friendly performances ... win or lose.
And the latter will likely emerge inside the "Shark Tank" when the British bomber hooks 'em with Brown.
Meanwhile, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 alum -- who has been notoriously inconsistent since his promotional debut back in 2008 -- is once again on another hot streak after being ice-cold from 2010 to 2011. Brown has notched four consecutive wins, stopping three of those opponents -- Chris Cope, Luis Ramos and Mike Swick -- all within the distance.
His sensational win over Swick -- a brutal knockout at UFC on Fox 5 in Dec. 2012 -- most likely earned him another rare invitation to compete on national television in the United States.
UFC on Fox 7 is turning out to boast another fantastic main card line up, with Lightweight champion Ben Henderson once again holding down the main event, this time against Strikeforce import -- and its 155-pound kingpin -- Gilbert Melendez. Undefeated Strikeforce grand prix winner Daniel Cormier -- who like "El Nino" is also switching sweaters for the first time ever under the brightest of spotlights -- is set to take on former Heavyweight champion Frank Mir.
It's going to be good.
