The numbers are in for UFC 155 and according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the world's largest mixed martial arts promotion is still doing big business.
UFC 155: "Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2," which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 29, 2012, tallied a live gate of $3,286,025, according to official figures from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) released yesterday.
The final attendance of 13,561 was the result of 10,590 tickets sold and 2,971 complimentary tickets, while 347 seats remained empty.
The UFC 155 main event saw former heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos get dethroned in his rematch against Cain Velasquez, who dominated the bout from pillar to post for the five full rounds.
It wasn't even close.
The co-headlining attraction saw Jim Miller open up on Joe Lauzon, sticking him hard enough to open a deep gash that would eventually require 40 stitches to close in a "Fight of the Night" performance.
In the other three main card bouts, Constantinos Philippou took out Tim Boetsch, Yushin Okami grinded Alan Belcher into dust and Derek Brunson made a successful Octagon debut with a tepid decision victory over Chris Leben.
