Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi! Oi! Oi!
There will be no official live Finale for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): The Smashes, a season based on the longstanding sport rivalry between Australia and the U.K. Instead, the seasons finals, featuring participants from the lightweight and welterweight divisions, will reportedly take place at UFC on FX 6 on Dec. 14, 2012, in Australia.
That's according to MMAWeekly.com, who also notes no official location or venue has been nailed down at this time.
Also on the docket will be the showdown between the two coaches for the show, a lightweight tussle pitting George Sotiropoulos vs. Ross Pearson.
Pearson (13-6), who was recently submitted by Johnny Law, suffered a technical knockout (TKO) loss to Cub Swanson last month at UFC on FX 4 from the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. "Sots" (14-4), meanwhile, has been flying under the radar since back-to-back losses to Dennis Siver and Rafael dos Anjos.
This could be the rebirth -- or undoing -- for both struggling fighters as they return to lightweight.
The Smashes will air on the Foxtel in Australia and is scheduled to debut on Sept. 19. For more on TUF: The Smashes, including the complete cast, click here. UFC on FX 6 is also set to feature a middleweight fight with Hector Lombard making his return after suffering his first loss in years against Brazilian tree stump Rousimar Palhares.
