"I trained a lot for this fight. I did my preparation like if I was fighting in Japan, in Pride. I trained much ground game and stand-up too and I'm well prepared. I have all the tools to wins this one. I'm going for a second-round knockout, but it's even better if I can do it on the first round. I'm ready to fight on the ground, I trained a lot for that but I'm doing my best to keep him up because that's best for me. I'm feeling fine and I love to do what I do, so I'm gonna do few more fights. I trained well, I will have my brother at my corner and everything's fine. I'm in great shape, well prepared, so I'm sure I'll keep fighting."
-- In a battle between two talented mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters who have had up-and-down careers, Murilo Rua -- older brother of Mauricio Rua -- and Paulo Filho -- former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) middleweight champion, will collide in the main event of the "Best of the Best" event, which will go down on in Belem, Brazil, tonight (Sept 6. 2012). While both competing in the Japan-based Pride FC organization during their younger years, the two Brazilians initially fought back in 2006 at Pride Bushido 10. Filho went on to win the bout via unanimous decision, earning bragging rights for Brazilian Top Team over Chute Boxe, Rua's camp, as the two teams were engaged in a bitter rivalry. Both have not had the best of luck in their previous contests and a win for either man will go a long way in extended their fighting careers a bit longer. Rua tells Tatame that regardless of the outcome, he is not ready to hang up his gloves just yet and aims to be the first to knockout his fellow countrymen. How about it Maniacs, who is your pick to come out on top in this battle of former Pride stars?
