Stefan Struve came into the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 5 on Sat., Sept. 29, 2012, at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England, looking to impressively finish Stipe Miocic and make his case as a top five heavyweight in the world.
Whether or not he's actually a top five heavyweight is in question but all that matters is if UFC President Dana White treats him like one. At the very least, he likely earned himself a bout against one of the elites in the weight class as he tries to inch his way closer to a rematch against Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos.
As for Dan Hardy, he came back home to battle Amir Sadollah with a game plan that left him barely recognizable. The trademark red and black spiked mohawk was still there but the man attached to it utilized a strategy he's never employed before.
The British banger would later say the hometown crowd chanting his name was almost enticing enough to draw him back into that old "stand-and-trade" mentality but he avoided temptation and his fresh tactics were enough to earn him a unanimous decision win.
Maybe it wasn't WAR like Lorenzo Fertitta likes but it got the job done.
Here are the highlights from Struve vs. Miocic and Hardy vs. Sadollah:
