All too often, mixed martial arts (MMA) fans simply pass off entire events because the headlining attraction may not be attractive enough to take up their valuable time, and that's fine. They definitely have the right to do that if they so please.

But that doesn't take into account the deeper realities of the situation.

While Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic may not be household names, they've dedicated years and years of training, time, energy, money, everything, just to get here, the main event of an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fight card.

They'll get the chance today (Sept. 29, 2012) in Nottingham, England, at UFC on FUEL TV 5. On the line is the continued rise up the heavyweight ladder, and maybe even a jump into the top five if Struve has his way.

This is what they've trained and sacrificed so much for. It all comes to a head today and we get to watch it play out live, all for our entertainment.
