Vinny Magalhaes: 'Jon Jones has been screwing me over and taking money out of my pocket'

Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Not only was Vinny Magalhaes passed over for a submission bonus at UFC 152 in favor of Jon Jones, but he may also have to wait until 2013 for his next fight due to the fallout of UFC 151's cancellation.

Shots fired.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Vinny Magalhaes made a triumphant return to the Octagon last weekend (Sept. 22, 2012) when he submitted Igor Pokrajac at the UFC 152: "Jones vs. Belfort" pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The win, his sixth straight, improved "Pezao" to 10-5 overall.

Now, the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 runner-up is ready to get back into action later this year, preferably in December. The only problem is, there may not be room for him on any of the upcoming fights cards because the talent who couldn't compete at UFC 151 have been plugging all the empty holes.

Magalhaes tells MMA Fight Corner that UFC 205-pound champion Jon Jones is to blame.

"I just texted Joe Silva to give me a fight in December, but I don't think it's gonna happen because of (UFC) 151 that thing that happened because of Jones. I wanted to fight. To be honest with you, Jon Jones has been screwing me over really bad lately. He's taking money out of my pocket and because of what he did with 151, I'm not gonna fight in December. If he can fight, I think Matt Hamill would be the ideal match right now. The fact that he fought on the same card, so he'd have the same amount of time to prepare for a fight and the same amount of rest after a fight so, I think Matt Hamill would be the ideal match. I'd also like to fight the winner of Phil Davis, Wagner Prado."

The UFC 151 PPV was canceled when Jones refused a short-notice fight against Chael Sonnen, who leapt at the chance to get his hands on the division gold when his friend and training partner, Dan Henderson, withdrew due to a knee injury.

UFC President Dana White, along with the rest of the ZUFFA brass, opted to scrap the entire show and send the remaining fighters to future cards -- including any they may have booked for December.

That could leave Magalhaes, who was passed over for "Submission of the Night" at UFC 152 in favor of "Bones," without a fight until 2013. And just one more reason to gnash his teeth and curse the champ.

Rightfully so? Yes or no?

And are these two destined to meet at some point in the future?
