UFC veteran light heavyweight Igor Pokrajac has apparently seen the light after a perplexing and hypocritical post-fight complaint.
Well it looks like someone finally talked some sense into "The Duke."
Just days after releasing one of the most befuddling tweets ever sent out, complaining about Vinny Magalhaes using his grappling in a mixed martial arts fight this past weekend at UFC 152 (which Magalhaes won via second round armbar), Igor Pokrajac has composed himself and offered a formal apology.
Here's what he had to say on Twitter:
"Sorry to all MMA fans on my fast tweet after the fight, was pist [sic] off because of my mistake i lost the fight. VInny did his best . I don't show anything I was prepared for, next fight I will do my best for all UFC and MMA fans. thank you all on big support."
What made his original sour grapes so strange was the fact that Pokrajac had actually initiated the ground game against Magalhaes, tripping the ADCC gold medalist grappler from the clinch and taking him to the ground. Magalhaes was simply going by instinct when he wrapped Pokrajac up first in a triangle and then transitioning to an insta-tap armbar.
Perhaps in the heat of the moment, anyone can make a mistake and look to find fault in everyone but themselves. It's good to see Pokrajac taking his lumps now that he's had a moment to calm down. After all, his three-fight winning streak had been snapped by Magalhaes.
Are you ready to forgive Pokrajac too? Or was that initial tweet too sanctimonious?
