After nearly a year on the shelf, it appears a certain "Polish Experiment" is set to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
After being knocked out by Igor Pokrajac on Dec. 10, 2011, at UFC 140: "Jones vs. Machida," Krzysztof Soszynski contemplated retirement, an announcement that was caught on a Dana White video blog and picked up on by the larger mixed martial arts media.
He later revealed he was on the fence but doctors would ultimately decide his fate. And he's not done just yet.
Soszynski now has a new fight scheduled for UFC on FX 6: "Lombard vs. Palhares," which is scheduled for Sat., Dec. 14, 2012, in Australia. Ednaldo Oliveira, a Brazilian making his light heavyweight debut, will be his opponent.
Guilherme Cruz of Tatame tweeted the news earlier today:
Ednaldo Oliveira to make his LHW debut at UFC's next show in Australia, on December, against Krzysztof Soszynski

Soszynski (26-12-1) is a nine fight veteran of the UFC, and has been competing in MMA for nine years now. In his time doing his thing inside the Octagon, he has notched wins over notable fighters like Brian Stann and Stephan Bonnar, and he's also been a pretty crowd pleasing fighter.
His career looked to be nearing its end after being knocked out by Igor Pokrajac, but it looks like he'll be taking at least one more fight before calling it quits.
Oliveira (13-1-1, 1 NC) came up in Brazilian regional shows, putting together an impressive unbeaten record before coming to the UFC. His debut didn't go as planned, as Oliveira was easily dispatched by Gabriel Gonzaga in the first round, so he'll be looking to prove his worth in the world's largest fight promotion. To accomplish that, Ednaldo has made the decision to drop down to light heavyweight and compete at a more suitable weight class.
UFC on FX 6 is set for December 15th in Australia, and will feature the finals of TUF: The Smashes. It is also set to feature a bout between the coaches, Ross Pearson and George Sotiropolous, as well as a middleweight bout between Rousimar Palhares and Hector Lombard.
