Filipino fight phenom Manny Pacquiao is expected to square off against Juan Manuel Marquez, yet again, when they hook 'em up for the fourth time in their respective careers on Dec. 8, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And there's no place Diego Magdaleno would rather be.
That's because the reigning NABF Super Featherweight Champion, who snatched the strap from Marcos Leonardo Jimenez with a blistering fifth round technical knockout back in early 2011, has already set his sights on his next opponent, who just so happens to throw down this Saturday night in "Sin City."
But will it be Roman Martinez or Miguel Beltran Jr.?
They're slated to sling leather as part of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Sergio Martinez pay-per-view (PPV) undercard, which emanates from the Thomas & Mack Center on Sept. 15, 2012. Aside from a potential title fight opposite the undefeated southpaw, "Rocky" and "Barreterito" also compete for the vacant WBO Super Featherweight Championship.
Who Magdaleno will be rooting for, and why, after the jump.
"I don't have a preference, but I think the better fight, because he's a warrior, is Beltran. He can hang in there and that's a fight I think the fans want and I'm always down to give it to them. I want to go up against the best and he's one of the better fighters. Martinez has the better record, but I think Beltran will give me a better fight. I want it to be on that December eight fight card, Pacquiao vs. Marquez four."
Diego Magdaleno vs. Miguel Beltran Jr. on Dec. 8?
Not if Martinez has anything to say about it. The Puerto Rican pugilist will undoubtedly be looking to secure his own spot in the history books and play spoiler at this weekend's boxing extravaganza. We've heard from Magdaleno, but who do you, as a fan of the "sweet science," want to see him fight?
