Get ready for the big boys.

Heavyweights Lavar Johnson and Brendan Schaub will hook 'em up at UFC on Fox 5, which will take place at the KeyArena in Seattle, Wash., on Dec. 8, 2012.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) shared the good news earlier this evening via its favorite social network tool, Twitter.com.

Johnson was most recently featured on the historic all-heavyweight UFC 146 pay-per-view (PPV) main card, hoping to notch the biggest victory of his career over Stefan Struve. Unfortunately for "Big," the 6'11" "Skyscraper" had other plans, locking in a fight-ending armbar submission little more than one minute into the opening frame.

The loss was Johnson's first-ever inside the Octagon and snapped a two-fight win streak, one that he's likely eager to begin anew when he collides with "The Hybrid."

Schaub was among the division's brightest young prospects before running face-first into the fists of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 134 in Aug. 2011. Things didn't get much better when that same face met the different fists of Ben Rothwell, who handed Schaub his second first round knockout in as many fights at UFC 145 earlier this year.

That's one streak that needs to end sooner rather than later. And one that could earn him a pink slip from the promotion -- and the reputation as owning a glass jaw before the age of 30 -- if it continues.

UFC on FOX 5 will feature world lightweight championship match between reigning 155-pound champion Ben Henderson vs. Nate Diaz. In addition, Alexander Gustafsson will look make Mauricio Rua his Light Heavyweight steeping stone, while Rory MacDonald will be out to do the same with B.J. Penn, albeit 35 pounds lighter in the Welterweight division.
