Jon Jones: The forgotten victim following the UFC 151 cancellation

Stay connected for news and updates

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been getting lit up on Twitter after turning down a UFC 151 fight against Chael Sonnen on just eight days notice.

So too, has art producer and video game outsourcing manager Jon Jones.

The self-described "pudgy, white dude" has been getting destroyed on the social media network, thanks to the legions of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans who don't realize he's not the same "Bones" who was scheduled to fight Dan Henderson next month in Las Vegas.

Whoops!

Once news broke that "Hendo" blew out his MCL, UFC President Dana White made the decision to cancel the UFC 151 event altogether after Jones felt it wasn't in his best interest to fight Sonnen without more time to prepare. He eventually agreed to rematch Lyoto Machida at UFC 152, except "The Dragon" said thanks, but no thanks.

Enter Vitor Belfort.

"The Phenom" will now return to 205-pounds to try and accomplish what he couldn't as a middleweight, and that's once again wear UFC gold. Their main event title fight goes down on Sept. 22, 2012 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

And win or lose, be sure to direct all comments to Jon Jones and not Jon Jones.
