All eyes will be on Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (L) when he steps inside the Octagon to headline UFC on FOX 4 this weekend in Los Angeles, taking on Brandon Vera in the main event of the evening with a potential 205-pound title shot on the line. Photo of Rua by Esther Lin for MMA Fighting.
MMAFighting.com photographer, Esther Lin, was on the scene at the JW Marriott hotel in Los Angeles, Calif., earlier today (Aug. 1, 2012) to shoot several of the notable fighters who will compete on the UFC on Fox 4: "Shogun vs. Vera" main card for the event's open media workouts.
Naturally, the two men who will collide in the main event of the evening, Mauricio Rua and Brandon Vera, were on the scene to promote their potential Light Heavyweight number one contender eliminator match, which could possibly earn the winner a 205-pound title fight against the winner of Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson, who collide at UFC 151 early next month.
The two fighters who will co-headline the mixed martial arts (MMA) event -- Lyoto Machida and Ryan Bader -- will also have a thing or three to say about that, considering that the winner of that showdown will also be considered for a world title fight of his own in the near future.
But, before all that, all four fighters, as well as a handful of other notables, were also in attendance to work up one of the last few real sweats prior to fight night (Aug. 4, 2012) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., this weekend.
