One of the most hyped non-UFC prospects will finally be making his debut inside the Octagon later this fall.
Of course, we're talking about welterweight Icelandic submission specialist Gunnar Nelson, who expects to take on scrappy German Pascal Krauss at UFC on Fuel TV 5 on Sept. 29, 2012, just a hop and skip over the the channel in Nottingham, England.
Sherdog brought word of the pending contest a short while ago.
Nelson is an extremely talented submission specialist. The 23 year old Iceland native remains undefeated after 10 career fights and last returned from over a year layoff to submit Alexander Butenko via armbar in the first round. European fans have been clamoring for Nelson to be invited to the UFC for a while now and it's finally happened.
Pacal Krauss is also a talented young fighter. Currently training out of Duke Roufus' gym in Milwaukee, he suffered the first defeat of his career at UFC on FOX 3 against John Hathaway via unanimous decision after missing well over a year due to a series of unfortunate training injuries. He'll be fighting closer to his native Germany this time around and is well aware of Nelson's status as an elite prospect.
UFC on Fuel TV 5 will take place on Sept. 29 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England. Stipe Miocic vs. Stefan Struve is the planned headliner alongside Dan Hardy vs. Amir Sadollah, Brad Pickett vs. Yves Jabouin, John Maguire vs. John Hathaway and much, much more.
And, as always, stay tuned to MMAmania.com for more on this event.
