Anderson Silva scores a technical knockout victory over Chael Sonnen to retain his middleweight championship and vanquish his arch nemesis once and for all in the main event of UFC 148 last night (Sat., July 7, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It looked like it would be Sonnen's fight early, as he used and abused Silva in the opening round, taking him down and raining down punches. But an ill advised spinning backfist attempt in the second round led to his demise, as "The Spider" capitalized with a crushing knee to the midsection with sniper like accuracy and ultimately finished the fight not long after. Long live the king. For a more detailed breakdown of Silva vs. Sonnen 2 click here and for complete UFC 148 results and blow by blow coverage of all the night's action click here.
