Once more, Hollywood draws from the world of MMA as it's background, in hopes of box office success with new film Here Comes The Boom. So far, the results have been less than stellar. Although, it does seem to be getting a little better with time. While there have been some documentaries such as Like Water or FightVille, that have received pretty good reviews, most of the storyline mma films have either fallen flat, or have simply been embarrassing...**cough...(Never Back Down)...cough** . With that said, I actually enjoyed Warrior, but I don't think too many outside of the MMA world gave it much notice.
Anyway, with names like Kevin James, and Selma Hayek, and a more mainstream approach, maybe this is the one that actually works? It looks like Bas Rutten has a prominent role, which should be fun to watch. It's also directed by Frank Coraci, who gave us Wedding Singer and Waterboy, so odds are it will at least be funny. Although, he also gave us Zookeeper, and Around the World in 80 days...so cross your fingers.
