UFC on FX 3: "Johnson vs. McCall" from the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $40,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's headed home with a second sack of simoleons.
Mega-prospect Erick Silva showed he's more than just another Brazilian knockout artist when he took the best Charlie Brenneman had to offer and responded by choking him out in the first round of their welterweight showdown.
The wrangling was good enough to earn him "Submission of the Night" honors.
Mike Pyle is $40K richer thanks to his landing a picture perfect one-hitter quitter on an over-aggressive Josh Neer, stopping "The Dentist's" six-fight win streak. The "Knockout of the Night" bonus is the first of Pyle's long career.
Finally, Eddie Wineland and Scott Jorgensen were awarded "Fight of the Night" for their thrilling, back-and-forth war of attrition that saw the former send the latter off to La La Land with a huge right hand in the second round of their extremely close contest. Not only does Wineland get to keep his job with the world's largest fight promotion, he also banks a smooth $40,000.
Not bad for a night's work.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC on FX 3:
Submission of the Night -- Erick Silva
Knockout of the Night -- Mike Pyle
Fight of the Night -- Eddie Wineland vs. Scott Jorgensen
Again, each fighter received $40,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
