Boxing megastar Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight title against Timothy Bradley this Saturday night (June 9, 2012) live on pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
So why is everyone still talking about Floyd Mayweather?
Probably because "Desert Storm" is a placeholder for the incarcerated "Money," who was this close to taking on "Pac-Man" back in late 2009. If Pacquiao can manage to fend off the undefeated American, who is a flawless 28-0 as a pugilist with 12 knockouts, will the dream fight ever come to fruition?
SB Nation went behind-the-scenes to find out.
Pacquiao, who is apparently wrestling with personal problems heading into this weekend's title fight, has the weight of the boxing world on his shoulders. Whether or not it's too heavy to keep him on his feet in "Sin City," remains to be seen.
Early predictions?
