UFC 148 has been in constant upheaval since it was announced, and the last couple of weeks have been no different. The interim Bantamweight title fight between Renan Barao and Urijah Faber was moved to UFC 149, and Rich Franklin has been replaced by former title challenger Patrick Cote.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will go with a six-fight pay-per-view (PPV) main card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 7, 2012.
But, no fight is more important than the main event, Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, which was also supposed to take place on another card, UFC 147, just this past weekend in Brazil. In hindsight, after what happened on today's UFC 148 pre-fight press conference call with "The Spider" seemingly blinded by rage, it was probably the right call not to lead Sonnen into the belly of the beast.
That could have been bad ... real bad.
