UFC on FX 4: "Maynard vs. Guida" from the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $50,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's headed home with a second sack of simoleons.
Local favorite Dan Miller made a successful debut in the welterweight division by choking out Ricardo Funch in the third round via guillotine choke. The wrangling was good enough to earn him "Submission of the Night" honors.
Couldn't have happened to a better guy. He deserves this one.
Cub Swanson's pockets are a lot heavier tonight thanks to his landing a picture perfect combination of punches on an over-aggressive Ross Pearson, stopping "The Real Deal" in the second round of their featherweight fracas. The "Knockout of the Night" bonus is the first Swanson has earned inside the Octagon.
Finally, Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher were awarded "Fight of the Night" for their thrilling, back-and-forth war of attrition that saw the former send the latter off to retirement (probably) by showing off a new and improved wrestling game that was good enough to earn him a decision win.
The $50K is a nice way bonus to leave the game with, though.
Submission of the Night -- Dan Miller
Knockout of the Night -- Cub Swanson
Fight of the Night -- Spencer Fisher vs. Sam Stout
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
