Bad day to be a Thiago.

Not long after it was reported that Thiago Silva suffered an injury and was forced to pull out of his co-main event bout against Mauricio Rua at UFC 149: "Aldo vs. Koch" on July 21, 2012, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, word has hit the wire that Thiago Alves is ailing too.

Indeed, MMAWeekly.com reports "The Pitbull" injured himself in training and he will no longer be able to square off against Siyar Bahadurzada at the very same event. A search for a replacement is currently underway.

Alves was originally scheduled to throw down with Yoshihiro Akiyama before the Japanese judo specialist went down with an injury less than one month ago. That paved the way for Bahadurzada, who made his long-awaited UFC debut back on April 14, 2012 in impressive fashion, knocking out Paulo Thiago in the very first minute of the opening round at UFC on Fuel TV 2, extending his win streak to seven.

Can he push that streak to eight against the incomparable TBA?

Stay tuned to MMAmania.com for more on this still-developing fight card.
