UFC on Fox 3: "Diaz vs. Miller" is just hours away from popping off tonight (Sat., May 5, 2012) from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In the co-main event of the evening, welterweight warriors Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks will collide with a whole helluva lot on the line.
For "Big Rig," he's been told an impressive victory could net him a title shot down the line. Or at least put him just one more win away from one. It's for that reason, among others, that he's just happy to be here:
"This fight is amazing. I feel blessed being able to get it. I've come a long ways, I've fought a lot of tough fighters, and my time is here. I have to go out there and do everything I can to get my hand raised."
Koscheck, meanwhile, is coming into this fight with more motivation that usual. Not only does he want to avenge his close friend Jon Fitch's 12 second knockout loss to Hendricks, he also wants to shut up some of the critics who popped up following his uninspiring win over Mike Pierce back at UFC 143 on Feb. 4 in Las Vegas.
"I feel like I've got a lot to prove this fight, you know, because my last fight was suspect. You can't always have a knockout, you can't always have an amazing fight every time you step in the cage. That's always been my motivation. ... I've got a lot to prove."
Indeed, high stakes for these two once they step inside the Octagon tonight at the IZOD Center. The big question, Maniacs, is who wins?
Well ... who ya got?
