This, Maniacs, is what Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) color commentator Joe Rogan would refer to as a goat vagina.

Lost in Dan Hardy's sensational, not to mention emotional, first round knockout of Duane Ludwig on the UFC 146 "Prelims" under card was this wig splitter. "The Outlaw" was attracting most of our attention, celebrating victory for the first time in nearly three full years after he connected with a looping left hook that set up the eventual finish.

It was at this moment, with "Bang" badly hurt, that Hardy delivered a series of short elbows that opened Ludwig's forehead like a box cutter. Ringside officials immediately rushed to his aid, applying pressure to the grisly gash to stem the blood flow.

Our very own Kevin Haggerty with the call last night (May 26, 2012) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada:

On the exit both fighters throw furious exchanges, Ludwig probably getting the better of the striking there. Huge left hook by Hardy! Ludwig crumbles to the mat! Hardy pounces on him with punches and it's all over! KO win for Hardy!

No mention of the cut, but it's pretty clear that it did indeed happen. In fact, check out a .gif (via IronForgesIron.com) after the jump that shows the finish, as well as the elbow that caused the gash:

That's going to leave a mark, as well as an impression with UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta, who made the decision to keep Hardy on the roster despite his impressive run of futility.

It already cost him a "Knockout of the Night" bonus, as well as an emergency room visit.
