Before UFC 146: "Dos Santos vs. Mir" went down last night (Sat., May 26, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Octagon girl Arianny Celeste was arrested for battery on a domestic violence charge.
She was held on $3,000 bail, which was eventually posted, and made it to the arena in time to fulfill her card carrying duties.
In the wake of such a bad month for UFC employees getting arrested for various charges, like Jon Jones and Ross Pearson both getting popped for DUI, you would think promotion President Dana White will have had it up to here. Instead, he's showing complete support for Celeste, despite not knowing all the facts surrounding the situation (via Yahoo! Sports):
"Arianny is our baby. She has been with us for over five years. She is a good girl and an amazing ambassador for the UFC. I don't know all the details of what happened but we have her back and support her 100 percent."
Loyalty is one thing; blindly throwing unconditional support behind someone without knowing all the facts of a situation is another. Nonetheless, that's what White is doing and it's obvious Celeste is in no danger of losing her job with the promotion.
Sorry, Brittney.
