What, you thought Jon Jones was the only one who likes to drink before getting up close and personal with light poles?
Jenna Jameson, former adult film actress and longtime on-again/off-again girlfriend of mixed martial artist Tito Ortiz, was arrested this morning (Fri., May 25, 2012) for suspicion of DUI in Southern California.
Former adult film star Jenna Jameson has been arrested in Southern California for investigation of driving under the influence after she struck a light pole with her vehicle.
Police say Jameson had driven her vehicle into a light pole early Friday in Westminster. She suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment. A police statement says a field sobriety test was conducted and there were signs of intoxication. Jameson was booked and later cited and released.
Jameson is well known to MMA fans, and not just for her "acting" career. She's the mother of Ortiz's two sons and has been involved in numerous high profile incidents with "The People's Champ." Ortiz accused her of being addicted to pain pills, among other things, during a messy spat that saw the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion arrested for domestic violence a few years ago.
They've gone through various stages as a couple since then, including going back and forth airing their dirty laundry on Twitter for the world to see. Even UFC President Dana White prompted Ortiz to put Jameson "on a leash" to reel her in.
Despite Ortiz's promises to avoid Twitter drama, he was tweeting cryptic messages last night saying things like, "If you had a problem deep seeded in yourself and had a chance to lose everything you loved, would you look for help or let it get the best of you?"
Foreshadowing Jameson's arrest? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Either way, drama with his baby's mama is the last thing Ortiz needs as he gears up for his retirement fight at UFC 148 on July 7, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, against Forrest Griffin.
