Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is slowly but surely filling up its upcoming UFC 149 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card for the ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on July 21, 2012.
Coming out of the chute, via the promotion's official Canadian Twitter account, is a 170-pound match-up pitting Canada's own Claude Patrick against stateside up-and-comer James Head.
Patrick (14-2) saw his 13 fight winning streak snapped against the rough-and-tumble Brian Ebersole at UFC 140 last December. It was the first defeat inside the Octagon for "The Prince," who will try to prove he's still royalty against a very well-rounded fighter.
Despite his background in boxing, Head (8-2) has done his share of submission fighting and last tapped Papy Abedi at the UFC on FUEL TV 2 event earlier this year in Sweden.
Which one of these talented welterweights gets it done on fight night?
UFC 149 features a main event title fight between reigning featherweight champion Jose Aldo putting his 145-pound title on the line against the dangerous striking attack of division number one contender Erik Koch.
Other main card match-ups include Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's return from injury to face off against Cheick Kongo while Michael Bisping tries to get back into the 185-pound title hunt against middleweight "Barbarian" Tim Boetsch.
