Hello MMA Maniacs, welcome to this special edition of Beermania.
On the eve of UFC on FUEL TV 3, featuring a fighter from Korea (Chan Sung Jung) versus a fighter from Louisiana (Dustin Poirier), two places that are not particularly known for their beer, I have decided to appease the booty gods (OJR) and do a special Rootbeer edition of Beermania.
Now, for anyone who tuned in looking for the typical beer suggestions, for Louisiana check out some beers by Abita Brewing or Dixie Brewing Company. I suggest Purple Haze or Turbo Dog for Abita. For Korea, try some OB Lager Beer by Oriental Brewing company, it is similar to Budweiser.
Now, on to the Rootbeer!
My first choice is a soda that I have been enjoying since my senior year of high school. Hank's Gourmet Beverage Rootbeer. They also have an outstanding Black Cherry Wishniak as well as a wonderful Cream Soda.
From the Brewery: Root Beer - Philadelphia is the birthplace of root beer. The flavor for Hank’s was developed from an old Philadelphia root beer recipe. Pure cane sugar and gourmet quality ingredients enhance the body, head, mouth feel, and flavor. Hank’s has created the richest, smoothest, and creamiest soda possible. A true gourmet root beer.
Hanks Rootbeer can be found in and around the Philadelphia area, as well as through the official website http://www.hanksbeverages.net/.
Next up, I have selected a National brand that can be found on most supermarket shelves. Original Stewart's Rootbeer.
From the Brewery: The flavor has been hand-crafted from a secret blend of over 20 extract varieties of roots, herbs and berries — resulting in the creamiest, best tasting root beer ever made! This is the fastest growing micro-soda Root Beer in the USA.
So Maniacs, now it's time for you to chime in, on Rootbeer, real beer, tomorrow night's UFC on FUEL TV 3 fights, or whatever else is on you mind. I'll be back with a new Beermania installment in the next few weeks for UFC 146 "Dos Santos vs Mir."
As always, drink responsibly.
