Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today (April 24, 2012) announced that its Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen rematch will not be taking place in Brazil, leaving the upcoming UFC 147 main event in the hands of Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva.

Just as soon as they have a place to fight.

Losing the middleweight title fight was not the only blow to Brazilian fight fans, who may have been expecting a soccer stadium extravaganza. Instead, UFC President Dana White informed media members at today's UFC 148 pre-fight press conference that he's still without a venue to hold the June 23 event.

Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong, according to White.

UFC 147 is also expected to feature the finals of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil as well as a heavyweight battle between Fabricio Werdum vs. Mike Russow. There's also talk of bringing in UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, who is currently penciled in for the UFC 149 fight card on July 21 in Calgary.

Stay tuned.
