Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen staredown pic from UFC 148 pre-fight press conference on April 24

Don't let the closeness fool you. UFC 148 headliners Anderson Silva (L) and Chael Sonnen (still) don't like each other.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today (April 24, 2012) announced its new headliner for the upcoming UFC 148 pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 7, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Move over Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber III, your trilogy is taking a back seat to a rematch.

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II is coming to "Sin City," as announced by the promotion at today's special UFC 148 pre-fight press conference in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

Sorry, South America, but your consolation prize is a Wanderlei Silva vs. Vitor Belfort rematch and a year's supply of Turtle Wax.

The announcement and subsequent change of plans were revealed at today's UFC 148 pre-fight press conference. For updates, live blog and video replay of the presser click here.

"The Spider" was expected to defend his 185-pound strap against his arch nemesis in the main event of UFC 147 on June 23 in Brazil; however, extenuating circumstances forced the world's largest fight promotion to shuffle the deck and send its two middleweight stars to "Sin City."
