UFC 145: "Jones vs. Evans" from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $65,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's headed home with a second sack of simoleons.
"Big" Ben Rothwell got himself into tip top shape for his heavyweight showdown against Brendan Schaub and it paid off in the form of a knockout that seemingly summoned the ghosts of Octagon past. That's because "The Hybrid" had his eyes rolling in every direction while he was fighting off phantom opponents after getting his clocked cleaned.
Certainly "Knockout of the Night" worthy.
Considering the fact that only one bout on the entire 12-fight card ended by way of tapout, the "Submission of the Night" bonus was an easy decision for UFC President Dana White. Travis Browne rag dolled Strikeforce import Chad Griggs before locking in an arm triangle and finishing the job.
Finally, Mark Hominick and Eddie Yagin were awarded "Fight of the Night" honors for their bloody, back-and-forth war of attrition that saw the latter come away with a split decision victory. It was a close fight that featured a few knockdowns, busted noses and hematomas and it's no surprise they were given the green to help heal their wounds.
Especially "The Machine," who has now lost three in a row.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC 145:
Knockout of the Night -- Ben Rothwell
Submission of the Night -- Travis Browne
Fight of the Night -- Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin
Again, each fighter received $65,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
