MMAmania's Consensus Top Ten Light Heavyweight Results

This was an interesting one... the 205ers. There was a lot of debate about who was deserving of a top ten spot in the light heavyweight division. This resulted in a lot of name calling, bad words, yo mama jokes... you know, the usual around here. I can only hope the rest of the weight classes cause as much anger as this one did.

Again, here is what you will see.

1. Keith Jardine... 199 (1,2)

This means The Dean of Mean received 199 points while being ranked as high as 1st and as low as 2nd.

Here are the results:

1. Jon Jones... 198 (1,3)

2. Rashad Evans... 168 (1,5)

3. Dan Henderson... 147 (2,7)

4. Shogun Rua... 144 (2,5)

5. Lyoto Machida... 123 (2,6)

6. Phil Davis... 81 (5,10)

7. Alexander Gustafsson... 60 (2,out)

8. Ryan Bader... 58 (6,out)

9. Rampage Jackson... 40 (5,out)

10. Gegard Mousasi... 17 (6,out)

Others receiving votes:

Forrest Griffin... 14

Rogerio Nogueira... 14

Thigao Silva... 12

Anderson Silva... 9

Rich Franklin... 3 (one ballott (shonuff))

Feijao Cavalcante... 2

Mo Lawal... 1 (BluntnBeer)

Tito Ortiz... 1 (Ulf Murphy)

Interesting statistics:

Once again, no one's top ten matches OUR top ten exactly. Another group effort.

The top 6 fighters were in all 20 ballotts. 3 of those were unanimous top 5 (Jones, Rashad, Shogun).

5 fighters received a 2nd place vote... none of which were named Jon Jones. They were Rashad, Hendo, Shogun, Machida, and Gustafsson.

6 fighters received a 3rd place vote... including Jon Jones. The other were Rashad, Hendo, Shogun, Machida, and Anderson Silva.

Now for the Scott1 award... for those who dont know, Scott1 had 5 fighters in either their highest or lowest spots in the Heavyweight rankings. This time, we have 2 winners.

(shonuff) had 4 fighters ranked at their highest or lowest spot. He had Anderson #3, Rashad #5, Hendo #7, and Rich Franklin #8.

Then there was Armando Baez. He only had 3, but wow... he was the one who did NOT have Bones Jones #1. He had Rashad #1, Gustafsson #2, and Jones #3. That's right...

Honorable mention goes to Ittalian Stallion who was the only one who still had Rampage in the top 5 and had Davis at #10.

Middleweights are next... I can't wait for that one!
