Alessio Sakara: Brian Stann is a modern day Marine Warrior, I am historic Roman Soldier

Brian Stann (L) and Alessio Sakara (R) will go toe-to-toe at this weekend's (April 14, 2012) UFC on Fuel TV 2 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans should prepare to take cover as bombs will drop in the Octagon this weekend (April 14, 2012) at UFC on Fuel TV 2, when two heavy-handed Middleweight sluggers sling leather in Sweden.

At least, that's what dangerous striker and all around "Roman Soldier," Alessio Sakara, is aiming for when he steps into the cage against "All American" Brian Stann in the co-main event inside the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.

Sakara has not seen action since losing to a then unknown Chris Weidman at UFC on Versus 3: "Sanchez vs. Kampmann" more than one year ago. "Legionarius" was set to make his return against the now retired Jorge Rivera at UFC 133 last August, but a torn knee ligament (ACL) forced Sakara to bow out of the fight, and he has been riding the pine ever since.

Ready to get back into the swing of things, Sakara has his hands full against the former United States Marine Brian Stann ,who is also coming off of a loss to Chael Sonnen last October at UFC 136.

Speaking to Sherdog.com, Sakara says his upcoming fight against the former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) Light Heavyweight champion will be an all out war because of the modern day warrior philosophy that Stann embodies, as well as the historic Roman gladiator mentality Sakara brings to the table.

"I am very excited for this fight because he is a very tough guy, top 10 in the Middleweight. I am very happy because I love to fight with tough guy. I have Italian style, tough guy too. And it's a war. He's Marines, like war, it is very good for every people and UFC fans. Yeah, he is the modern, original warrior because he is a Marine. Me, Roman soldier, like history, but my spirit is a Roman soldier and Italian style. For me, this is the best fight of the night."

Though the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt says he has been brushing up on his all around MMA game at American Top Team (ATT), his striking spirit tends to take over once the cage door closes:

"I am training at American Top Team, everyone training there, we need to train everything. I train a lot in grappling, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, I like very much that style. But, sometimes, my spirit is to go to striking. But, if I go to floor, depends on situation in the Octagon, if I go to the floor, maybe it is good for me because my Jiu-Jitsu is better than his. I want a war, I want to knock him out and he want to knock out me. I think the best guy who have more technique, and more tenaciousness."

Stann, like his opponent, will also look for the knockout ,which means fans can look forward to an potential "Fight of the Night" stand up battle when these two Middleweights lock horns and look to make statements and leave it all on the Octagon.

But who, in your eyes, will prevail in this exciting battle? Will it be the U.S. Marine or the Roman Soldier?

Opinions, please.
