Size does matter.
Strikeforce heavyweight import Antonio Silva will make his Octagon debut at the upcoming UFC 146: "Dos Santos vs. Overeem" pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for May 26, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And he'll do it as the -225 favorite, according to our fiscal friends over at Best Fight Odds.
Silva (16-3) followed up the biggest win of his career, a technical knockout victory over Fedor Emelianenko, with his most crushing defeat, a knockout loss to Strikeforce 265-pound phenom Daniel Cormier.
Can he get back to his winning ways in his new home against another undersized heavyweight over the Memorial Day Weekend? The oddsmakers have indicated as much, pegging the bastion of Burger King a +175 underdog.
Nelson (16-7) is a mediocre 3-3 inside the Octagon. After retiring a debilitated Mirko Filipovic at last year's UFC 137, he was battered and bruised across three rounds by Fabricio Werdum at UFC 143 just over a month ago, prompting promotion president Dana White to once again ask him to lose some weight.
UFC 146 will be headlined by the biggest fight of the year (literally), when heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos puts his strap on the line for the very first time against division number one contender and famed Dutch striker Alistair Overeem.
Middleweight TUF guy Jason Miller is also back in action taking on the venerable C.B. Dollaway while Edson Barboza goes to war against Evan Dunham.
