Yuya Shirai is the DEEP welterweight champion and a Judo black belt and former national Sambo champion. Fabricio Monteiro is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt who has won numerous national and international grappling tournaments and both men are highly experienced mixed martial arts (MMA) veterans.

Shirai is the favorite courtesy of a superior 22-10-1 record and the fact that he has been fighting regularly recently. Monteiro has been out of action since 2009 but has a 17-9 record with 14 of his wins coming by way of stoppage.

Don't write Monteiro off, at one stage he was considered one of the best prospects in the entire MMA world after wining his first ten fights and he has fought for both Sengoku and DEEP. The reason he retired from MMA in 2009 was that he wasn't able to train full time and his results had begun to suffer as a result.

With a full training camp with all the world champions at Evolve MMA under his belt we could see a completely different 'Pitbull' (nicknamed due to his aggression) in this fight. However Shirai's experience makes him a strong favorite, with both fighters so well rounded this could well go to a decision.

This is the fight the fans in Singapore have all been waiting for. Ole Laursen and Eduard Folayang have both fought numerous times for Martial Combat and ONE FC and have gained a lot of popularity for their aggressive fighting styles.

Laursen is coming off a loss to Felipe Enomoto making this a career defining fight and one he really needs to win. Folayang just keeps winning and will be the favorite but he has a tendency to get hit when he fights which could be dangerous because Laursen is a K-1 and Muay Thai veteran who hits hard.

The Team Lakay fighters are renowned for their stamina and the longer the fight goes on the more it will favor Folayang. Laursen went for broke trying to knock Enomoto out in his last fight and might well do the same again so don't be surprised if he comes out throwing absolute hand grenades for punches right from the start.

Enomoto showed a hell of a chin to survive that fight and Folayang might need to exhibit the same sort of fortitude but if he can survive the inevitable early barrage he should be able to take control towards the latter stages of the fight.
