"My stance on the whole thing is... it's not allowed. You're not allowed to do it. Whatever the commission says you're not allowed to do, you're not allowed to do. It doesn't matter what I think. ... I don't smoke weed. It's not my thing. It's illegal; you can't do it. I can't present an argument for why (Nick Diaz) should be cool to have marijuana in his system."
-- UFC Welterweight Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his unanimous decision loss to Carlos Condit at UFC 143 back on Feb. 4, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. And because of how beloved the Stockton slugger is amongst the mixed martial arts fanbase, a debate immediately began regarding whether or not it should be okay for Diaz to use the drug, which is illegal but can be ingested for medicinal purposes. That's partially why Diaz does it, as he's got a medical card for marijuana in California. However, that doesn't extend to Nevada, where he was busted. And according to UFC President Dana White, that's all there is to it. It's illegal and you're not allowed to do it, so there's no good argument to be made for Diaz here, no matter how much anyone likes him. The debate will rage on, sure, and Diaz is fighting this case with some of the best lawyers money can buy, but his boss has made up his mind already. Have you? Let's get your take on this whole situation, one more time. And hear more from White on Diaz and how it would be "absolutely insane" for him to retire after the jump.
