The gang over at Sherdog has a video of mixed martial arts (MMA) up-and-comer Warlley Alves, 21, who started training at the X-Gym in Brazil nine months ago and finally had a chance to spar with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva.
Who just so happened to show him a backdoor low kick.
"Training MMA with Anderson is like playing soccer with Ronaldinho or [Lionel] Messi. Without a doubt, it is one of the greatest gifts God has given me. I must confess, I was impressed by his humility. He’s always ready to help all of those around him."
Silva will defend his 185-pound crown against Chael Sonnen at UFC 147 from the Joao Havelange Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 23, 2012. Might we see the backdoor low kick in action? Or will the only back door be the one used by Sonnen to escape a Brazilian lynch mob?
