ONE FC: Eddie Ng Denies Calling Jian Kai Chee a 'Fake' But Expects to Finish Him

ONE FC Preview: Jian Kai Chee vs Eddie Ng (via OneFCMMA)

Earlier this month Jian Kai Chee gave this interview about his fight with Eddie Ng at ONE Fighting Championship 'War of the Lions'. His opponent has responded and also moved to clarify some of the comments attributed to him in the video above.

Ng, from Hong Kong, is currently one of the rising stars of Asian MMA and has gone from studying instructional BJJ videos in his bedroom to working every day with a team of world champion trainers at Evolve MMA in Singapore.

He is softly spoken outside of the cage but facing him inside it is a fearsome proposition for any opponent and, as Ng tells us after the break, he is extremely confident that he can stop Jian Kai Chee.

Jian Kai Chee taunted you recently and claimed that you would be afraid to stand with him, what do you say to that?

Honestly, things like that do not bother me at all and if anything it shows weakness on his behalf. My coaches Chatri Sityodtong and Heath Sims have analysed myself and Kai, they know what both our strengths/weaknesses and strategy should be going into the fight. I assume Kai and his coaches also have their own opinions.

You said he is a fake, why is that?

I would like to clarify that I did NOT call him a fake and I believe the way the video was edited, it appeared to be that way. I respect every single person that enters the cage, Kai has been there more times than myself, he has won professional bouts, Kai is without a doubt a genuine threat.

Does being taunted by your opponent affect your attitude at all, does it make you train harder?

Not really, I don't care too much about the opinions and taunts of others. I train every day with Muay Thai World Champions such as Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn, Orono Wor Petchpun, Attachai Fairtex. BJJ World Champions like Zorobabel Moreira, Leandro Issa and former US Wrestling Olympian Heath Sims. I don't need any other reason to push me to train harder other than knowing that I have the best instruction available in the world and that they are helping me become the best Martial Artist that I can be.

How many times are you hoping to fight in 2012?

That decision is left up to the CEO of ONE FC Victor Cui and the Evolve MMA leader Chatri Sityodtong. Not only is Chatri my coach, but he also manages my fights and there is no other person that I would trust more than to know when/where/how many times I should fight.

Do you have any predictions for your fight at ONE FC 'War of the Lions'?

We have both trained hard for this fight, we have both watched each others previous fights and we both know which is the best way for us to win the fight. I'm not big on making predictions but I know for a fact that this fight will not go the distance! Try not to blink boys and girls because someone is going to get finished!

Look out for a big announcement from ONE FC tomorrow (Monday). It is supposedly regarding a 'gift' from the promotion to it's fans.
