hettes vs siler
In a division starving for championship contenders, expect a lot of eyes to be focusing in on the recently announced featherweight contest of Jim Hettes vs. Steven Siler at UFC on FX 4, tentatively scheduled for the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, on Sat., June 12, 2012.
UFC.com has the update:
Two of the featherweight division's top prospects return to action on June 22nd in Atlantic City, as unbeaten Jimy Hettes, fresh off back to back wins over Alex Caceres and Nam Phan, takes on The Ultimate Fighter 14 vet Steven Siler, who has two consecutive Octagon wins of his own, having beaten Josh Clopton and Cole Miller. This bout has been verbally agreed to.
Reigning 145-pound kingpin Jose Aldo is expected to answer the call of Dustin Poirier or Chan Sung Jung, depending on which featherweight gets the job done at UFC on FUEL TV 3 on May 15 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. After that? The pool of "in-the-mix'ers" is incredibly shallow.
Time for either "The Kid" or "Super" Siler to jump in with both feet.
Here's how the UFC on FX 4 fight card and line-up is starting to shape up:
Main Event (Five-round, non-title fight):
155 lbs.: Gray Maynard vs. Clay Guida
Other Scheduled Fights:
170 lbs.: Rick Story vs. Rich Attonito
170 lbs.: Brian Ebersole vs T.J. Waldburger
170 lbs.: Dan Miller vs. Ricardo Funch
145 lbs.: Jim Hettes vs. Steven Siler
185 lbs.: Nick Catone vs. Chris Camozzi
