"Cain Velasquez vs. Frank Mir. I'd like to thank the UFC for giving us the number one contendership on his first fight back on (Cain's) loss to Junior dos Santos. It's a great honor that they believe in Cain like that and a great challenge for us. Frank is great on the ground, has great stand-up and all-around it's a great fight for us. Frank's on the rise."

Head cheese at American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), Javier Mendez, is grateful that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gave former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez a number one contender's bout opposite former division kingpin Frank Mir just one fight removed from his loss to Junior dos Santos at the inaugural UFC on FOX event last November. It all goes down at the UFC 146 pay-per-view (PPV) on May 26 in Las Vegas and the winner fights either "Cigano" or his opponent (also at UFC 146) Alistair Overeem. How different will the UFC's 265-pound division look in just a few short months? More on that blockbuster PPV right here.
