The Nick Diaz vs. Carlos Condit rematch that UFC President Dana White had tweeted was basically a done deal with just a contract signing left on the agenda is now off the table, at least if we're to believe Cesar Gracie.
Diaz's manager told ESPN.com that the rematch is off. But he won't say why:
"Yeah, I said that (there will be no rematch). But that's all I can say. I can't say anything else. I can't do anything. Quote that if you want to. There is not going to be a rematch. Other than that, that's all I can say."
Details are sketchy and nearly all information surrounding exactly what's going on is speculation at best but something is certainly up. Where there's smoke, there's fire (maybe literally, in this case) and it likely won't be long until we get official word as to exactly what's happened.
Until then, feel free to give us your best guess as to exactly just what the heck is going on around here.

From Condits performance, to Nicks post fight comments it was a fucking disaster. Dana looked like he’d been to his best friends funeral in the post fight photos and Condit looked like the least happy winner in the world as the crowd booed him off the stage.
I cancelled my Diamond seat tickets for an upcoming event earlier this week on the basis of the shit i had to sit through and i love this sport. That shit last weekend, was not mma. It was some kind of homoerotic fencing without swords.
It was embarassing and no matter what anyone says about taking home a fake belt or money or any of that crap, it was a blight on the sport.

But if you want to see a barroom brawl, go to bar. I was actually impressed with Condit for his performance. He did expose the holes that were in Diaz’s game, but he unfortunately wasn’t as dominating and vicious as done of his past fights. Diaz is a hard guy to put to sleep, he seems to thrive off of taking punishment, which makes him so dangerous in a dog fight. So Condit played it safer than he usually does, but still managed to execute some impressive combos and diverse attacks while playing it safe. Very few people are giving Condit the credit he’s due.

Your points are as valid as any others.
I never mentioned wanting to see a bar room brawl though, that is when people get killed. What i do want is to see a game plan that involves more than touching an opponent more times than your opponent. I have never seen a fight where an opppoenent of Condit’s abilities didn’t try at least once to finish a fight by strikes or sub. Not once did he try and for me that speaks volumes about this fight and what i hope is not a trend in the sport.
Diaz did try to finish and he won the hand strike (on that fucken hideous compu strike shit), so it came down to slappy leg kicks and that is sad taking into account what i have said above.
You could also reverse your arguement and say Diaz didn’t get credit for setting the pace and landing the harder more decisive strikes.
I remember a certain Machida/Rampage fight where Rampage got the split dec for the same thing as Diaz lost a UD for.
