New UFC Intro Sequence: sound off
Well, the iconic UFC Gladiator has been downsized and the PPV has a shiny new opening sequence. It's a sort of chronicle of the evolution of the UFC, featuring its biggest stars down through the ages. What did you guys think of it? Anyone miss the Gladiator? Also sound off on what you think about the battling robots thing.
(if anyone can find a working link to it, please post a link and I'll add it to the thread.)

I miss the old music!
Love the clips, but the old music had such an epic feel to it. It really got your goosebumps up.
"Who's da MASTA?!!!"
It reminded me of a Ford Pickup commercial
wasn’t impressed….
I promise not to post anymore fat chick or poop gifs.
Im extremely sensitive. The pussy kind of sensitive where I cry like twice a day. I love Cruz Jackson and am honored to be a part of his winning record. I’m his new bitch, step aside Stallion I got that dick now.
Sig bet record 2-6*
I thought the new opening was awesome!
I loved gladiator guy and the music but thought the new one kicked its ass!
Too short, doesn't work well in context
I thought the 60 seconds or was too short once it was linked to the B&W fighter interview sections, then transitions into fight clips with that awful “Face the Pain” crap.
Personally, I would’ve kept the music going from the intro, to a subtle bit under the interviews, followed by a bigger orchestral bit during the clips.
I like the intro, but I thought once the whole “intro” package was assembled, it just didn’t quite fit.
Definitely.
Everything doesnt go well together and it looks disorganized. I liked it, but they should have made to better transitions, like you said.
Show no mercy; for you shall receive none
BRING BACK THE GLADIATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND HIS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's go Giants!!! clap clap clap-clap-clap
Let's go Giants!!! clap clap clap-clap-clap
Let's go Giants!!! clap clap clap-clap-clap
I thought it was good but why no submissions in there?
Some slick armbars or something, but then again it may not of flowed together as well.
Chael Sonnen: Undefeated and undisputed UFC Middleweight champion. Toughest man on Earth and even Anderson can’t resist his 217 pounds of muscle, steel and sex appeal!
confused as to why this video is impossible to find anywhere. why doesnt the ufc want people to check out something they spend a shit ton of money on?
Fuck It Dude, Life's A Risk
I wondered the same thing!!!
It’s not like people are buying PPVs just to see this video. Having it on YouTube could do nothing but good for them! Makes no sense at all!
"Who's da MASTA?!!!"
I though it was pretty epic,
But it did feel out of place, I wish they would incorporate the fighters on the card like they used to.
But nice change!
oh yeah, I hadn't thought of that!
That’s the part where I really get my MMA-newb friends interested in the matchups and the fighters on the card that they’ve never heard of (which is almost all of them). I think leaving that out is a HUGE mistake.
"Who's da MASTA?!!!"
I thought it was a bit of a sideways move. I liked the gladiator, the music in particular was really suited to the start of the event. The new start is of about the same quality really, it doesn’t feel like a massive step up or down, more… just different.
I also have to agree with JamPark that the lack of submissions was slightly disappointing.
MMA is like a puzzle, it's just a matter of finding a solution to each situation.
The new intro looks great
But the music lacks the punch to get you excited. Background music revision and we are in business!

Watched it for a 3rd time today. Still feels rushed, gloomy, and lacks any kind of andreniline. I don't get excited at all.
I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence...
Let me quote the guy from Youtube
I figure the gladiator intro doesn’t paint a picture of the ufc, it is only metaphoric. This intro on the other hand clearly and directly paints the picture. Though it doesn’t really transition well into the fight card (face the pain) intro. And I was surprised and very glad they kept the Face the Pain part in there.
Professional sig bet record: 7-8-1
The feast is over for Nick Diaz. No longer will he dine on mediocre fighters from lesser promotions. With a future promising fights against GSP, Condit, Fitch, Kos, MacDonald, Ellenberger, Alves, Hendricks and Sanchez, you probably should retire. Don’t be scared, Homie.
was it in there? I can't remember.
I don’t care about the Face the Pain music, but the highlight-reel intros of the fighters on the card are key to hyping the matchups for fans new to MMA or to those particular fighters. Newcomers see that part and are like, “Oh damn! Dude can do THAT! This is gonna be a great fight!”
