UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit" is all set to pop off tomorrow night (Sat., Feb. 4, 2012) from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a welterweight interim title bout pitting Nick Diaz vs. Carlos Condit.

That's not to mention Roy Nelson vs. Fabricio Werdum in a heavyweight attraction and the suddenly contentious match-up between Josh Koscheck and rising 170-pound contender Mike Pierce.

Before we can get to the good stuff, though, every one of the competitors on tomorrow night's fight card had to hit the scales in "Sin City" to make sure they aren't carrying any extra baggage. Thankfully, none of them are and all 11 bouts are now official.

After the jump, you can check out photos (via UFC.com) from today's UFC 143 weigh-in event. For complete results click here, for staredowns click here and to watch the full UFC 143 weigh-in video click here.

In better shape is what I think fos is trying to say

I don't try to intimidate anybody before a fight. That's nonsense. I intimidate people by hitting them.

Yeah, I think Dana hurt his feelings when he lost to Junior

and I don’t see Werdum knocking him out. I think he is motivated by the looks of his conditioning. This may be the rebirth of “Big Country”..

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 10:25 PM EST up reply actions

You crazy man. Werdum don’t got nothing for a guy like Roy.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 10:30 PM EST up reply actions

he has fleet of foot.

roys footwork and ringwork are not good enough.. werdum will stick and move to a split.

Werdum is no striker. Roy is. You’ll see tmrw.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 10:58 PM EST up reply actions

I have Roy landing a couple heavy shots early, causing Werdum to revert to his tried and true tactic of flopping onto his back and leading to a UD for Big Country.

That wig bit was great

Pissed kos right off though…

by dragonassault on Feb 4, 2012 12:10 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Koscheck is generally unlikeable and i am usually content to root against him...

But I’m hoping Koscheck beats the shit out of Pierce…we could use another HL KO for the opening montages..

I really don't have a problem with Kos

but I haven’t seen Pierce knock anyone out, and also all of his wins seem to be by decision so if the wrestling is negated then I give a good chance that Kos may knock him out.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 10:23 PM EST up reply actions

That and the level of competition edge goes to KOS as well

Guys can hate the person KOS but there is no denying he is a dangerous WW.

I don't try to intimidate anybody before a fight. That's nonsense. I intimidate people by hitting them.

by Puck Head on Feb 3, 2012 10:27 PM EST up reply actions

Thank you,

I agree, this is a BIG step up in competition for Pierce. I hope he is not depending on that wig to make him marketable to the UFC and avoid being cut when he starts getting KO’d.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 10:30 PM EST up reply actions

Pierce has fought Fitch and Hendricks.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 10:31 PM EST up reply actions

Both were good competitive fights. This should be as well.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 10:40 PM EST up reply actions

maybe,

the problem is that I don’t see any major improvement in the striking of pierce. He does not have KO power so if the wrestling is negated i see Kos getting a decision or knocking this fool out.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 10:51 PM EST up reply actions

Kos striking is so bad though. Kos wouldn’t go far in the amateur level in MT. His striking is terrible without the thread of the takedown.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 10:52 PM EST up reply actions

definitely, he is not a K-1 level striker at all.

but he has KO/TKO’d some people. Pierce has failed to show me he can do that.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 10:57 PM EST up reply actions

K-1 is the highest level of MT. I’m talking about amateur level. I’m telling you man, those guys would blow Kos out.

Kos is able to knock people out because he’s fighting with no power or no wrestling.

Kos was getting outstruck by Matt Fucking Hughes.

Pierce might not have the one hitter quitter, only once in his career I believe, but he does have power. Just ask Jon Fitch, who was on queer street due to Pierce’s hands.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:00 PM EST up reply actions

Of course he is not K-1, but based on the recent

experience of both fighters i would think that Kos is going to knock him out. Plus being on queer street is different than getting knocked the F out.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 11:07 PM EST up reply actions

Dude, are you listening? I said he’s not even amateur level! Of course he’s not K-1 level.

You know, the whole Pro > Amateur thing? Geez man!

So what, Pierce has power, maybe not one hit power, but your not walking through his punches.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:10 PM EST up reply actions

I thought she was busy and you had free time? She just got back from her class or whatever you mentioned in the FFT? Awesome thread by the way, kudos mate. No problem, nagging wives fucking suck.

she got back at 3pm and left again

so i picked up some beer and now she came back and i am hearing all sorts of shit.

gonna be a rough night

Thanks, i really take pride in the friday thread. It is one of my only manly things left after getting married , buying a house, having kids, etc. etc. well at least i work from home!!!

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 11:18 PM EST up reply actions

Jesus, work from home! You are fucked! Haha. Yea, got a little one myself, living with women and children is really one of those things in life you always thought would be peaches and cream, and it’s one of the more miserable existences in life. Why God , why!

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:23 PM EST up reply actions

it has its perks

but the worst part is seeing my wife more. The more she sees me, the more she complains. Don’t get me wrong, i love her, but life was more simple when i had a 9 to 5 and worked outside the house.

Kos size n wrestling will be a factor

Pierce looks more like a 155lbr

by THORAZINE on Feb 3, 2012 11:03 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Pierce just fought at 185. He ain’t small. Pierce is about to swell up about 30 pounds of water weight. Kos will relatively stay the same. I bet Kos won’t be bigger than 185 tmrw, and Pierce will be over 190.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:04 PM EST up reply actions

I think the fight is definitely going to be competitive. But yea, I’m definitely leaning towards Pierce.

I’m taking Roy , Diaz, Pierce , who you got?

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:11 PM EST up reply actions

I agree, going to be competitive. I keep getting flashbacks of Kos

getting knocked silly by Thiago so that is definitely on my mind. I am leaning towards Kos simply because of the fact that it has been almost 3 years since Pierce has won via TKO/KO and I don’t see him getting a decision against Kos.

I am also taking Roy. Diaz and Condit is a hard fight to call, but I have always been in Condit’s corner so i am sticking with Condit. i am a fan no matter what.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 11:23 PM EST up reply actions

I have faith in Kos being Kos. The dude is probably the worst guy gameplan wise, as well as transition wise. He is also an idiot, who basically blatantly admitted that he was overlooking Pierce.

Honestly Pierce’s little hair stunt wasn’t too smart, why piss Kos off, when you probably had an advantage of that going in?

I don’t think Pierce even gives a fuck, but from their staredown, Kos looks big and angry.

A lot of times the weighs ins and the way the fighter looks to me, as well as when first getting into the cage sway my opinions , but my original thinking is pretty solid.

It’s just hard when it’s finally time, everything goes out the window.

Kos striking is very , very bad though. He’s basically Demian Maia with more power. Maybe not even that good.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:26 PM EST up reply actions

And agreed, Condit vs Diaz is really tough to call. My original thinking is Diaz, the way they’ve looked has me thinking Condit now, but I’ll probably stick with my logic that Diaz is just a little bit tougher.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:28 PM EST up reply actions

agreed upon,

the weigh-ins always “weigh in” on my decisions. I also saw an angry Kos, Yeah all pre-conceived notions fly out the window when they are in the ring/cage, but I think the wrestling will be negated and that Kos will win. I think a tko, but if pressed then i would bet a decision.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 11:42 PM EST up reply actions

not me

i think that the odds are stacked against him, big time.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 11:43 PM EST up reply actions

You probably said the same thing about Hendricks.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:51 PM EST up reply actions

Man Diaz is really scared

you should totally twitter that on your facebook

by ~Peregrine on Feb 3, 2012 10:25 PM EST reply actions

agreed, but i missed the old mean muggin diaz

any deviance,“raises my suspicions”. I have mad respect for Diaz, but this is out of character.

by fosforito11 on Feb 3, 2012 10:52 PM EST up reply actions

Condit is a god damn man. It’s hard to play games with him.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 10:53 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t think Condit ever really talks shit. He’s just a cowboy. Diaz only talks shit when provoked, similar to Brock Lesnar, when they start talking shit, it seems to overshadow their non shit talking fights.

by p123 on Feb 3, 2012 11:12 PM EST up reply actions

Not really

He didn’t talk shit to Cyborg before the fight either or Zaromskis

He respects guys who come to fight and don’t talk shit

by 49erEmpire on Feb 3, 2012 11:08 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

This ^ is truth

That’s the deal, he likes/respects the guys who come to fight and who don’t talk shit AND like anyone else there are some guys who he just doesn’t like.

He also didn’t talk any shit on Daley until the actual day of the weigh in’s when I think Daley was mouthing at stare down time

by jtc5150 on Feb 3, 2012 11:23 PM EST up reply actions

Damn, you just reminded me

how sick all of his fights in strikeforce were

by xquisitewretch on Feb 4, 2012 7:32 AM EST up reply actions

Diaz and Roy look probably the best ive seen either one ever(well definitely roy)

Will be really interesting tomorrow.
