Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira arm pics for rehab from Frank Mir submission

Nog_arm_scar_medium

Gnarly scar, right?

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is currently in the midst of rehabbing his arm and shoulder after he had both badly injured at the hands of deadly submission specialist Frank Mir back at UFC 140 on Dec. 10, 2011, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Mir viciously broke Nogueira's arm, forcing him to fly out the next day for emergency surgery, which was successful. It also left that gigantic scar that you see above.

Now, Sportv.com reveals that about a month out from his rematch against Mir, "Big Nog" suffered two separate shoulder injuries. "Minotauro" maintains that he was completely healthy for the fight itself, however, and it played no part in his defeat.

You know, even if he did re-injure said shoulder and half his arm nearly broken in half.

Check out a few more pics of Nogueira rehabbing his injury after the jump.

maybe he’ll come back in better shape and not rush like he did. But who am I kidding? He’s 35 years old and at the end of his career. Thanks for the memories.

I want him to come back strong, I’m just worried the wear and tear have caught up to him…. they have…. but…. to the point that he won’t be competitive anymore. I’d like to see him challenge for the title…just once more….

I sounds like a always rushes and gets back in the cage too quickly. He must not have read that article I did about athletes with the longest careers saying that their secret is fully rehabbing even small inguries before competing again. Back in the PRIDE days people talked about how his lack of defense would take it’s toll on him later, and now that time has come.

I would say Mir takes it because Lesnar hasn’t been the same fighter since his battle with diverticulitis.

And Overeem is no "reem" either.

the guy is no where as good as his fans pretend he is, and Brock doesn’t even go for take downs anymore, maybe one or two lazy attempt’s per match. This is a pointless thing to discuss because you’re not going to admit that Mir could win it and we both know that fight is impossible to see now.

Well i'm basing it on precedent.

Brock beat the snot out of him the last time they fought and Mir hasn’t exactly looked spectacular lately.

The thing is, they got into a "insult each others favorite fighter" war.

Now we get to see one bad mouth Rua while the other mad mouths Nog. Neither fight is the best in the world, but both are legends and great fighters. Though if you ask me big Nog is a better fighter with much more heart.

Now, count up your crimes!

by Cyclonejoker on Feb 3, 2012 7:04 PM EST up reply actions

Shogun has accomplished more against better competition, FACT.

More heart? He just got TAPPED out by Mir, Shogun just took 30 H-bombs in a row and was ready for more.

Bobby Southworth

by danago on Feb 3, 2012 7:06 PM EST up reply actions

Shogun didn't take any "H-Bombs", he took good shots but none of those were even close to one punch power.

And Shogun got subbed by Forrest fucking griffin. At least it took Nog getting his arm broken to give up while Shogun tried to tap to strikes but got stopped before he could even do it.

Now, count up your crimes!

by Cyclonejoker on Feb 3, 2012 7:08 PM EST up reply actions

At least Rua came back and demolished Forrest. Nog has failed to avenge ANY of his losses LOL. Fedor humiliated him, as did Mir. Did he show the heart to come back and avenge the losses? Nope, Shogun has.

You’re a joke if you think Rua didn’t get hit with big shots against Henderson. ALL of Hendersons punches pack serious power. Nog never did anything, the overrated can that he is.

Mir knocked Nog out LOL, Henderson packs WAY more power than Mir.

But his wins over chuck Liddell and Mark Coleman are so impressive considering they don't fight anymore.

And the fact that he beat Forrest and Machida who both kicked his ass already and have been on a horrible skid makes Shogun look even more mediocre.

Now, count up your crimes!

by Cyclonejoker on Feb 3, 2012 7:35 PM EST up reply actions

I actually like Shogun and think he's great.....

I’m just trolling the troll. Big Nog is the 2nd best HW of all time and has had a better MMA career than Shogun, though.

Shogun is a good fighter, but PRIDE really tried to make him something he's not.

In the UFC he’s looked ok, but he’s just not what his fans bought into.

Now, count up your crimes!

by Cyclonejoker on Feb 3, 2012 7:38 PM EST up reply actions

I just think he's looked bad

because of being less than 100% due to his knee injuries and I think that also directly corresponds to some bad cardio. He basically beat Machida twice, finishing him the 2nd time, which is impressive. Could argue he “deserved” a win over Rampage, too. He also avenged his poor performance against Forrest.

Obviously danago vastly overrates Shogun, but he’s still an excellent fighter.

Ok then, I've been watching for years and I can't exactly remember when I because a real fan.

I was some what into it back in the original day but not really a fan, then in the mid or maybe a little more early 2000’s I watched some PRIDe and King of the Cage and also UFC. A littler late rat that time I started to really enjoy watching it and I started watching a lot of the stuff I missed out on and I never bought into the unbeatable champs of PRIDE due to all the cans they fought on a normal base, I knew they were good but no where near as good as they were built up to be.

Now, count up your crimes!

by Cyclonejoker on Feb 3, 2012 8:14 PM EST up reply actions

Nice try.

But that’s a troll comment if i’ve ever seen one.

Because if you actually started watching the sport in the early 2000’s and not 2008, you’d never call them cans.
