Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira arm pics for rehab from Frank Mir submission
Gnarly scar, right?
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is currently in the midst of rehabbing his arm and shoulder after he had both badly injured at the hands of deadly submission specialist Frank Mir back at UFC 140 on Dec. 10, 2011, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Mir viciously broke Nogueira's arm, forcing him to fly out the next day for emergency surgery, which was successful. It also left that gigantic scar that you see above.
Now, Sportv.com reveals that about a month out from his rematch against Mir, "Big Nog" suffered two separate shoulder injuries. "Minotauro" maintains that he was completely healthy for the fight itself, however, and it played no part in his defeat.
You know, even if he did re-injure said shoulder and half his arm nearly broken in half.
Check out a few more pics of Nogueira rehabbing his injury after the jump.

maybe he’ll come back in better shape and not rush like he did. But who am I kidding? He’s 35 years old and at the end of his career. Thanks for the memories.

Don't get me wrong, I'm almost always rooting for Big Nog
but after so many injuries…..
"I am the tomato can that crushed your champion, live with it."

Yeah I know
I want him to come back strong, I’m just worried the wear and tear have caught up to him…. they have…. but…. to the point that he won’t be competitive anymore. I’d like to see him challenge for the title…just once more….
"I am the tomato can that crushed your champion, live with it."
I sounds like a always rushes and gets back in the cage too quickly. He must not have read that article I did about athletes with the longest careers saying that their secret is fully rehabbing even small inguries before competing again. Back in the PRIDE days people talked about how his lack of defense would take it’s toll on him later, and now that time has come.
Woah big fella!

Too bad Mir never got his third fight with Lesnar.
I would say Mir takes it because Lesnar hasn’t been the same fighter since his battle with diverticulitis.
Now, count up your crimes!
or since he was bloodied and battered by carwin

We'll never know.
I don’t think he would because he lost his killer instinct.
Now, count up your crimes!
Well Mir is no Reem
We all saw how it went down last time.
Mir couldn’t stay off his back.
"..That man has to be eliminated." - Fedor Emelianenko
And Overeem is no "reem" either.
the guy is no where as good as his fans pretend he is, and Brock doesn’t even go for take downs anymore, maybe one or two lazy attempt’s per match. This is a pointless thing to discuss because you’re not going to admit that Mir could win it and we both know that fight is impossible to see now.
Now, count up your crimes!
Well i'm basing it on precedent.
Brock beat the snot out of him the last time they fought and Mir hasn’t exactly looked spectacular lately.
Reem is good man whether you like to believe it or not.
"..That man has to be eliminated." - Fedor Emelianenko
Never said it was impressive
But you make it sound like Werdum sucks?
"..That man has to be eliminated." - Fedor Emelianenko
Not so much that, it's just he's a great match up to beat Werdum but he just kinda choked in the fight.
Werdum should have won that fight but it seemed he hurt his knee at one point.
Now, count up your crimes!
Yeah if he kept it standing he may have beaten Reem
But people underrate Werdum. He is bloody good.

or screamed for the ref to get mir off him (again)

Great to see the use of Kinesiotape. Pride fighters used it a lot.

Yeah, I remember that
What was the deal with putting it on their backs though? I remember at least one guy would always have it around the shoulderblade area and it would just come loose and fall off pretty quickly. Might have bee Ryan Gracie.

i think you're confusing big nog for shogun
Tito Ortiz = BJ Penn = Overrated, excuse-making frontrunner
Fitch clearly won round 2 and the fight against Penn
Sonnen clearly won round 1 and the fight against Bisping
A Pride GP winner, former UFC Champion? No, I could never.
Nog couldn’t even beat Mir LOL.

Beating Mir isn't easy.
In his prime he’s only lost to 2 world champions.
Now, count up your crimes!
Mir has looked like garbage for years now. He holds the title for most boring main event in the history of MMA.

pretty insane not to think Big Nog isn’t a pioneer of the sport
Pride Heavyweight Champion
UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion
One of the top heavyweight submission artist, really one of the first heavyweights to go for primarily submissions in MMA.
"When you believe in something and you're a good person...things happen" - Junior Dos Santos
The thing is, they got into a "insult each others favorite fighter" war.
Now we get to see one bad mouth Rua while the other mad mouths Nog. Neither fight is the best in the world, but both are legends and great fighters. Though if you ask me big Nog is a better fighter with much more heart.
Now, count up your crimes!
Shogun has accomplished more against better competition, FACT.
More heart? He just got TAPPED out by Mir, Shogun just took 30 H-bombs in a row and was ready for more.
Bobby Southworth
Shogun didn't take any "H-Bombs", he took good shots but none of those were even close to one punch power.
And Shogun got subbed by Forrest fucking griffin. At least it took Nog getting his arm broken to give up while Shogun tried to tap to strikes but got stopped before he could even do it.
Now, count up your crimes!
At least Rua came back and demolished Forrest. Nog has failed to avenge ANY of his losses LOL. Fedor humiliated him, as did Mir. Did he show the heart to come back and avenge the losses? Nope, Shogun has.
You’re a joke if you think Rua didn’t get hit with big shots against Henderson. ALL of Hendersons punches pack serious power. Nog never did anything, the overrated can that he is.
Mir knocked Nog out LOL, Henderson packs WAY more power than Mir.
Bobby Southworth
Actually Nog avenged his loss to Dan Henderson, the very man to make Shogun bitch about losing a close fight.
Now, count up your crimes!
He has 40 pounds on him, damn he should have never of lost to him in the first place LOL.
Get knocked out by Mir, can.
Bobby Southworth
You're nit picking and obviously refusing to see any negative in that hairy nippled light heavyweight.
Nog has failed to avenge ANY of his losses
And that’s why I brought the Dan Henderson win, yet you ignored it.
Now, count up your crimes!
Stop trying to discredit a legend and arguably, the most accomplished 205 fighter in the history of MMA.
Bobby Southworth
Stop trying to discredit a legend and arguably, the most accomplished 240 fighter in the history of MMA.
He’s had more belts than Shogun too.
Now, count up your crimes!
Having more belts means nothing, Rua has beaten the best in his division in his Prime. 2005 GP > Anything Nog has ever done.
Nog hasn’t, weather you like it or not. Fedor owned him. Now GTFO before you get slapped kid.
Bobby Southworth
You are a shitty troll.
And a stupid retard as well, I would really hate to see how fat and stupid you look in real life living in your moms basement.
Now, count up your crimes!
Shogun couldn’t beat Babalu
Mir > Babalu
Tito Ortiz = BJ Penn = Overrated, excuse-making frontrunner
Fitch clearly won round 2 and the fight against Penn
Sonnen clearly won round 1 and the fight against Bisping
But his wins over chuck Liddell and Mark Coleman are so impressive considering they don't fight anymore.
And the fact that he beat Forrest and Machida who both kicked his ass already and have been on a horrible skid makes Shogun look even more mediocre.
Now, count up your crimes!
I actually like Shogun and think he's great.....
I’m just trolling the troll. Big Nog is the 2nd best HW of all time and has had a better MMA career than Shogun, though.
Tito Ortiz = BJ Penn = Overrated, excuse-making frontrunner
Fitch clearly won round 2 and the fight against Penn
Sonnen clearly won round 1 and the fight against Bisping
Shogun is a good fighter, but PRIDE really tried to make him something he's not.
In the UFC he’s looked ok, but he’s just not what his fans bought into.
Now, count up your crimes!
I just think he's looked bad
because of being less than 100% due to his knee injuries and I think that also directly corresponds to some bad cardio. He basically beat Machida twice, finishing him the 2nd time, which is impressive. Could argue he “deserved” a win over Rampage, too. He also avenged his poor performance against Forrest.
Obviously danago vastly overrates Shogun, but he’s still an excellent fighter.
Tito Ortiz = BJ Penn = Overrated, excuse-making frontrunner
Fitch clearly won round 2 and the fight against Penn
Sonnen clearly won round 1 and the fight against Bisping
Cyclone, Why don't you answer it first
and then i’ll answer yours.
"..That man has to be eliminated." - Fedor Emelianenko
Ok then, I've been watching for years and I can't exactly remember when I because a real fan.
I was some what into it back in the original day but not really a fan, then in the mid or maybe a little more early 2000’s I watched some PRIDe and King of the Cage and also UFC. A littler late rat that time I started to really enjoy watching it and I started watching a lot of the stuff I missed out on and I never bought into the unbeatable champs of PRIDE due to all the cans they fought on a normal base, I knew they were good but no where near as good as they were built up to be.
Now, count up your crimes!
Nice try.
But that’s a troll comment if i’ve ever seen one.
Because if you actually started watching the sport in the early 2000’s and not 2008, you’d never call them cans.
"..That man has to be eliminated." - Fedor Emelianenko
No actually that's a true comment.
They fought a lot of cans but not all them were. And what year you watch a fight has nothing to do with them automatically not being easy fights.
Now, count up your crimes!
He’s looked better than Nog has in the UFC you tool.
He had more success in pride with winning the GP and has had more success in the UFC with with winning the belt.
How can you even despite that? Get knocked out by Mir kid.
